Welcome to the website of 1265 (Horncastle) Squadron.

1265 Squadron is located in Horncastle in the heart of Lincolnshire. Our Squadron is part of a large family of Air Cadet Squadrons based in almost 1000 locations across the UK and overseas.

The Squadron works towards the aims of the Air Cadet Organisation:

  • To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the RAF;
  • To provide training which will be useful both in civilian and service life; and,
  • To foster a spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of citizenship and leadership.

The motto of the Air Cadet Organisation is "Venture Adventure". With the motto in mind, our Squadron provides opportunities to young people between the ages of 12 to 20 years old in an inclusive and diverse environment. Flying, gliding, Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme, UK and overseas camps, shooting, adventure training and sports are just some of the range of activities we offer. We also offer a range of certified training and qualifications such as BTEC, first aid, leadership courses and sports coaching. All the above opportunities are available to both cadets and adult volunteers.

Additionally, our Squadron develops a variety of skills such as, communication, independence, teamwork and leadership skills that will help you towards achieving your long term goals.

By joining the Air Cadets you can become part of a successful team and take part in a huge range of available activities, meet new people, travel, challenge yourself, have great experiences, develop skills, gain qualifications, develop and grow as a person and most importantly have fun!

I look forward to meeting you soon.
